The leaves on the trees are gone, and snow covers the forest. Leaf-bare is finally here. DawnClan's territory is nearly a foot deep in thick snow. The Moonlight Pond in MoonClan territory has frozen over, and the apprentices are hopeful that the ice will melt before their warrior ceremonies. Barkleaf, a MoonClan warrior, was the first to die this cold season due to greencough. Soon thereafter, Ferretleap of MeadowClan caught the sickness and died. Not only this, but the eldest of the two MeadowClan medicine cats, Jumpfoot, is now unable to help prevent the spread of greencough after dying from a poisonous snake bite. Yet, Splashtail is determined to help out twice as much now that her mentor is gone. CaveClan and DawnClan have both already lost two cats due to the horrible sickness. CaveClan lost an elder, Snowflurry, and a brave warrior, Heronfeather, who suffered greatly for nearly a moon before passing. Riverstar and Badgerstripe of DawnClan are now grieving for the loss of two of their daughters, Hazelcloud and Honeybrook. Thankfully, Ryewhisker of CaveClan is now expecting kits with her mate Thistleflame to keep their Clan strong during leaf-bare. Sunstream of DawnClan is also expecting her second litter with her mate Splashnose. Despite the hardships, all Clans will survive through to newleaf.

MoonClan Territory
MoonClan gets their name from the clear pond they live next to. This pond clearly reflects the moon no matter where it is in the sky. It is strict Clan rules that no cat bathes in the Moonlight Pond. The only time a cat is allowed to bathe in the Moonlight Pond is once on the night after their vigil. Then they are officially a warrior. This tradition only belongs to MoonClan.
MeadowClan Territory
MeadowClan is located in a beautiful flowering meadow. Many herbs grow in this territory, so the clan usually has plentiful amounts to heal their cats. Although most of their territory is made up of meadows, they have some areas that contain many trees. MeadowClan are experts at hunting in tall grasses and open fields. Their camp is located beside the stream that runs only in MeadowClan territory, known as the Whispering Stream.
CaveClan Territory
CaveClan is located in the caves at the base of DawnClan's mountains. Although the two clans' territories overlap, it is forbidden for CaveClan to ascend the mountain, and for DawnClan to enter the caves. The CaveClan camp is located in a cavern containing a large hole in the roof that allows sunlight and moonlight to shine through. There are many different caves located throughout the mountain, such as High Cave, the tallest cave located in the midst of the tallest mountain, and Star Cave, a cave filled with ice-like crystals that inexplicably glow like stars any time of day. All of the caves are connected with long, pitch-black passages, sometimes thin and other times wide. The CaveClan cats' training allows them to adjust to these conditions. Sometimes the clan hunts in the small patch of forest found outside of the caves.
DawnClan Territory
DawnClan's name comes from the spectacular view they get each morning. They are the first to see the new dawn over the horizon, and so they are called DawnClan. They live and hunt in the thick mountain-top forests. Their camp is located at the highest point of the center mountain, very far above High Cave of CaveClan. It has been rumored that these cats learned to hunt deer, but the other disbelieving clans have named this a myth. These cats are often excellent climbers, both trees and rocks. There are also a few drop-offs into churning, white water throughout their territory that are mostly crossed by fallen trees. These cats often get into disputes with CaveClan from border troubles.
